Archer Testimonials

As a LASA archer who has been around since the founding of the team, I cannot overstate how amazed I am by the growth we have achieved over the past year. This program is especially significant to me because it was my introduction to archery. I have had the privilege of learning and growing along with the program, and I have been so impressed by the number of people it has touched. I know how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to learn Archery in a place that is so welcoming and supportive, and every other first-time archer I know feels the same.

So many members of the community - students, parents, teachers, and the wonderful Coach Kat - have poured endless time, effort, and care into this program. Support from fundraising helps their contributions go even further. Additionally, donations are vital because they help make Archery accessible for everyone interested. The most important thing about LASA archery is our vibrant community, and your aid makes it possible for us to continue supporting all of our archers.

Thank you,
Audrey

Archery has been a joy for me since day one, a sport that is fun, very interactive, and can be done almost anywhere. Archery is a sport that provides a very kind, and engaging community. I also believe that archery is a sport you can continue to do your whole life yet still be able to do more. Archery is one of the most diverse sports. There are many types of archery, ranging from simple compounds to paralympic recurve. LASA Archery allows many students to pursue various types of archery, we also get to go to state and national-level competitions! Sadly, archery is not currently considered a UIL sport, so we do not get as much funding as other sports. But you can help us! By donating money, no matter how small, you help grow LASA Archery’s funds, so you become a part of this wonderful community!

Thank you,

Alejandro I. Rosa-Rosa

Since I started archery in 7th grade, I've had a lot of fun and growth. The first year I did archery, I broke my wrist and wasn't able to practice for half the year. Eventually, I got better and really started shooting. The first tournament I went to was one of the last of the season before State, and I was not very well prepared. In the year and a half since then, I've constantly improved not only my shot process, and score, but also being part of a team and a community of archers that have a great time shooting and competitively encourage each other to do better and better. Switching teams from middle to high school introduced me to other archers that enjoyed and appreciated archery just the same. Although it may feel good to get a high score, there are plenty of things like the classic one arrow shoot-offs at the end of tournaments that ensure no matter what you got, it's still about having fun. Archery isn't a UIL sport, so the clubs that people join are because they have a passion for archery, possibly from doing it before, or just trying it out. And since archery is not UIL funded, your donations would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Ian Block

I’ve been doing archery for 4 years now. We just established our High School team last year and we've done really well so far which has helped me grow my love for archery. Archery has taught me so much and helped me become a better person, it holds a big place in my heart. Without archery I don’t think I would be the same person I am today at all. I’ve learned so much about focus and commitment, as well as how important a community is.

The archery community is the best community I’ve ever been in, besides SUUSI of course (this is where you laugh). Our community has put together this fundraiser to help support our team travel to state and national tournaments.

Because we are such a new team, each bit of support we get helps so much and goes such a long way. I, and every other member of our community, would be so thankful for any amount of support. So please consider helping us fundraise.
